Profile

Personality

Mojo is a small import male from Oregon, America and brings completely new bloodlines to Europe.

He is co-owned with my fellow breeders Petra Buschsieweke at "Hearts of Destiny" and Christine Streubel at "McMontana". Hence his kennel name "Cross L's Lost My Heart in McMontana", which unites all our kennel names and which also is the reason for his name "Mojo", because in African it means "heart", as well as fertility, music, dance and life – which also fits, because he didn't gain weight the first few days after birth and then decided to live after all. In addition, the name is a synonym for happiness. So all in all a lot of positive meanings for a really great and promising little guy.

Mojo spent the first 15 weeks of his life in a family with children, his mother "Maizy", and his older (and very beautiful) full sister "Juneau". He now lives with friends in Worms, who offer him a great life and are very happy that he is a part of their family.

We all are very happy to have Mojo here with us and are more than excited to watch him mature. For now, we want him to fully settle in in Germany and as soon as we have all got to know him better, we will share more about his character here.

... one year later, Timo & Julia write the following about Mojo:

His nature is as diverse as his coloring. A quick learner and lovable character who will enchant everyone with his beautiful ocean blue eyes. He keeps getting stopped and complimented on his unique looks. If he had to sign autographs, his paws would probably hurt. Mojo loves to be outside with his master and mistress and plays with everything he can find. Preferably with water. In the dog pool or, if he is allowed to, with the water jet of the garden hose – water is just great, as long as his butt doesn't get wet. Whether it's a walk, games, training, a bike or canoe tour, adventure and physical exertion are always welcome to him. He is always motivated and has a lot of energy, no matter the weather. Nevertheless, he also manages to take breaks. It doesn't matter whether he goes to sleep in his crate or dog bed or simply lies in the middle of the action and closes his eyes.

Mojo loves physical contact, which is not the same as cuddling. He likes to lie down next to you and actively seeks contact to you. However, he is only ready for overzealous, active cuddling during the "cuddle opening times" early in the morning, after getting up, and late at night. Like a shy child, he sometimes needs some time to get used to new people and animals. However, he has no problem with anyone and likes to come along everywhere. There are always situations in which he surprises us in a positive way, because he stays cool and allows strangers to touch him without any problems. He is also sometimes skeptical about other dogs at first and often barks in frustration until he is allowed to go to them to sniff. Size, gender and age don't seem to matter. Sometimes he is totally relaxed and then he has the impulse to bark, but never in an aggressive way. After getting to know each other for a short time, however, he always sheds his initial skepticism and then he always wants to play. Walks with other dogs are also very exciting for him at first. But as soon as he gets used to the situation and the other dogs, he calms down and is enthusiastic and happy about it. Once he has gained trust (which can sometimes be immediately and sometimes takes a little longer), you have found a loyal friend and playmate in Mojo.

Mojo loves it when his pack is complete. His greetings are correspondingly euphoric. True to the motto "Be right in the middle of things instead of just watching them happen", he feels right at home in his "extended family" and is always happy when friends and relatives come to visit us. Being right in the middle means that he is also at the start of every holiday. It doesn't matter to him whether it's a road trip or long ride in the car, a trip by bike, an adventure vacation in a canoe, a SUP course, days on the beach by the sea or a skiing vacation in the mountains. However, snow and sand are his absolute weakness and unlock additional energy reserves – snow on the beach would be his absolute dream!

As typical for the breed, Mojo observes everything that moves suddenly and quickly very intensively. So far, however, he has never run away and has always been able to be recalled before and even as soon as he started running. Whether birds, rabbits, deer, squirrels or other dogs crossed our path. During this year Mojo had his beginnings in curving. He loves the combination of physical and mental exertion. After every training session, he appears balanced and content. The trainer lovingly described him as "a little nerd" because he understood the processes and exercises so quickly and was able to implement them. It also helps that he would do anything for the right treat. Mojo is a loyal and great companion and we are happy that he is part of our lives.
